In Divorce with Joy, I talk about my process through divorce. My process was difficult yet productive. I worked to use the time of transition to make our family unit happier and healthier, whether my Husband and I stayed married or got divorced. To do this, I had to deal with a lifetime of pain, trauma and a persona I’d created to cope with life that was very far from my authentic self. I share how this process worked for me.
When writing the book, I very much wanted to keep it short and impactful. I could’ve written 1000 pages on the subject. However, I was very mindful to get to the core points and not overwhelm the reader with nuance. Once you truly understand and internalize the core points, I think the remainder works itself out. In the “With Joy” blog, I share some experiences and thoughts that didn’t make it into the book. I share my continued struggles and triumphs and encourage you to share as well. My hope is to build a network of people, supporting one another in crafting stronger, healthier people and families. I invite you to join me on this journey.
